Walking Tour

Today was my first class and the first chance I've had to walk around London during the day time! Thank goodness for that. We started off the day with Fabio, our building manager here, and he told us lovely safety procedures, but also took us on a walk to show us good places to shop and have a little tour of the neighborhood. The borough I am in is Kensington, but it is really close to Chelsea, and from what I've seen that side of it, seems very rich. I think I must have passed at least 10 BMW and a few Jaguars. Anyways, after that was the first class with Andrew, our professor, and he taught us some basic history and then let us off for lunch. Lunch was eaten in our room followed by the adventure for the day, a walking tour of London. In order to get to the destination, we took the tube (subway), which is confusing but I hope to get the hang of it soon. I thought I might not get motion sickness on the tube, but I did a little, so now I know.

So our tour today consisted of the Tower Bridge, the London Bridge, Southwark Cathedral, the Millenium Bridge (that was in the 6th Harry Potter movie!), walked by Shakespeare's Globe Theatre, and finished off the day walking by the London Eye, Houses of Parliament, and Big Ben! Pretty much everything stereotypically London was seen today and I loved it! My camera ran out of battery when I got to the London Eye, but in our free time, Rachel, Jenna and I are planning to go back and spend more time in that area.

My day ended with a trip to the grocery story, the Sainsbury, to stock up on some meals for the week, and then out to dinner to have Fish and Chips :) Tomorrow we will be meeting our professor at Tower Hill for some more walking and note-taking. Then Wednesday night is our first theatre trip which should be fun.

I will try to keep updating for everyone back home, miss you all!! <3
